ABOUT THIS PRODUCT: Proteinase K is required to prepare the lysis solution for isolation of DNA from hair. Proteinase K is a broad-spectrum serine protease which is stable over a wide range of pH. EDVOTEK Cat. #626 is a convenient lyophilized pellet containing 200 units of proteinase k enzyme. It should be diluted to the desired concentration with a tris-based buffer (preferably a 1x TE soln.).
